MCIA 2011 Committee's "FESTIVAL OF INDIA" celebrations on Saturday August 27th, was a Thumping Success and we would like thank the members participation / turnout at the event. The event brought in the patriotic fervor amongst the packed participants / audience at event. The event had a huge participation by the community members and was one of the largest audience turnout for MCIA events. We had more than 300 plus community members participation which included a large turn out from the local community.

Attractions at the event were- Henna Painting, Face painting, Free Popcorn, Free Balloon for Kids, Inflatable Balloon Slide added a festive atmosphere to the event.
The Patriotic "INDIA PARADE" organized for the FIRST TIME as part of MCIA's "FESTIVAL OF INDIA" celebrations was a SUPER HIT at the event. Youth Volunteers portrayed as Bharath Mata by Sankhya Amaravadi, Peacock by Yashaswi(Dolly) Suresh, Lotus flower by Veebha Gowda, Tiger by Sankalp Amaravadi, Kathak Dancer by Aishwarya Chengi was a added attraction to the parade. We had parade participation from NINE INDIAN States, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Rajasthan followed by MCIA 2011 Team. It was wonderful evening with the Colourful and Beautiful floats designed by each State's representatives. I would like to sincerely express my thanks for the participation of the community members in the parade. We have proved and shown to the community the power in the saying "UNITY IN DIVERSITY' and UNITY amongst us for representing our country.
The Cultural items, Bhangra dance by Ghungroo Dance Company from University of Illinois, Classical Dance by Uma Kallakuri, Thiruvathira by Bloomington Kerala Forum(BKF) and Lezim Dance by Marati Mandal was a delight to watch and CHEERING AUDIENCE played a great role in motivating the performers by their loud applause. The Bollywood music band led by Gurinder Negi provided a scintillating live music entertainment to the cheering audience.
We have received good compliments for the event that was organized with a sole intention of showcasing our culture and Tradition to the local community. This would not have been possible without the support / involvement of all 2011 committee members. The 2011 MCIA Team has presented another MEMORABLE EVENT of HIGH QUALITY that will be remembered in the community for a long time. The concept of "INDIA PARADE" conceived and presented by 2011 MCIA committee has been very well received and praised by the community.
Illinois State University(ISU) appreciated the huge community turnout / involvement and also praised the efforts taken by MCIA for showcasing our Culture and Tradition to the ISU community. The success of this event has opened a lot of other opportunities for us to partner with ISU. I would like to thank ISU for partnering with MCIA for the event and also ISU student volunteers.
The success of the event is due to the dedicated committee members and I would like to convey my sincere thanks and appreciation to Youth members Sankhya Amaravadi, Yashaswi(Dolly) Suresh, Veebha Gowda, Sankalp Amaravadi, Aishwarya Chengi, Cultural team members Uma Kallakuri, Padmashree Suresh, Archana Shekara, Jigna Desai, Kaberi Dutta, Gowri Karandikar, Ashlesha Raut, Krishnaja Bhamidipati, Leena Kohli, Nayana Gandhi, Hospitality Team members Aruna Mundlapudi, Saraswathi Amaravadhi, Veena Vivek, Coordination and Technical team Shaishiv Varshney, Srinivas Bhamidipati, Gurinder Negi, Hari Chenna, Uma Shankar, Ram Satyam, Ganesh Peddireddy, Jishnuram Nair, Hemant Kale, Vandana Bajikar, Rohan Gurjar and all the community members for coming together to provide another memorable and remarkable event to the community in the year 2011.
I would like to again thank the whole community for the participation which is great motivation and inspiration for MCIA - 2011 committee to organize events of high QUALITY.
