About MCIA

MCIA was established in 1979 to provide a means of bringing social and cultural events to the then small Indian community of less than 50 families. It has come a long way since then.  Over last 31 years, MCIA has done significant work for social and cultural development in the Bloomington/Normal community. Mission and Goals

MCIA’s mission is to promote Asian Indian culture among its members and to help Asian Indians become an integral part of the local Bloomington/Normal community. MCIA’s primary goals are:    To promote Asian Indian culture and values among its members To promote participation in community volunteer and charitable activities To increase awareness about India and Indian culture in the local community To promote leadership, volunteerism, sports, and educational activities for its youth members

MCIA Bylaws

The bylaws are the rules and regulations that govern MCIA. MCIA bylaws were created by the MCIA Bylaws Committee over a period of two years (2005-2006). These bylaws went through a review process by members in 2006. They were approved by a majority of the MCIA members in December 2006. The bylaws also contain procedures that should be followed for making updates to this important document.
