Hello MCIA Members,
It's time for our next Home Sweet Home Mission Volunteer activity for 2011. Our next community activity is scheduled for Saturday, August 20th, 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM at Home Sweet Home Ministries.
Home Sweet Home is a Shelter for homeless people. The staff at HSHM do a very honorable service by helping people who are in need to food and shelter. Home Sweet Home counts on its volunteers and donors to help them in this effort. MCIA volunteers in association with State-farm Breakfast Club(HSHM and Safe Harbor) have been helping out at HSHM for over 10 years now. This is a very noble cause and we kindly request your participation in this effort.
Here are the guidelines for volunteering :
> State farm Breakfast club plans a breakfast for HSHM residents every Saturday. The Crew Leader purchases all the needed groceries and the cost is equally divided between volunteers. We just want to ensure that HSHM is not burdened by the cost of the groceries for Saturday morning breakfast.
> The Breakfast is very yummy and we get periodic notes from the residents on how they appreciate our help.
> The schedule is planned well ahead (over a year) and so it's extremely important for those who commit to come to HSHM on time so that the flow of work is not impacted.
MCIA's Role:
> MCIA volunteers will help with Serving the Breakfast. We are required to be present at the facility by 7.30 AM and we should be done at the latest by 9 AM, in most cases by 8.30 AM.
> You have to be at-least 12 years old to volunteer under the supervision of an adult. Youths over 16 can volunteer on their own.
> We need 4 Volunteers for this activity.
> MCIA Volunteers contribute to the cost of the breakfast. This is optional in 2011 as MCIA is willing to contribute for its member volunteers this year. The contribution from members is still appreciated for this noble cause.
Let us all work together in this humble effort to bring cheers in the lives of people who are going through a tough time.
